As a member-supported group, we depend on people like you. Your tax deductible membership dues help us to:
- Pursue open space and resource protection through the negotiation of Conservation and Agricultural Easements,
- Provide educational opportunities to our community with events such as Creek Day,
- Restore wetlands in Black Lake Canyon, rare dune habitats in the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes, and the San Luis Obispo Creek Watershed,
- Restore the Octagon Barn,
- Support a professional staff with expertise in conservation strategies and easements, habitat restoration, conservation monitoring, watershed and riparian enhancement, open space and environmental planning, and GIS technology.

Volunteers
The Land Conservancy depends on our community volunteers. Whether they are repairing our historic Octagon Barn, planting trees along a creek, monitoring water quality on local creeks, leading a hike, or helping with our outreach events, our volunteers mean a great deal to us. Joining the Land Conservancy as a member or making a donation to one of our special funds has never been easier. You can now donate online with your credit card. Simply click the link below.
The Land Conservancy has chosen a non-profit partner for processing our online donations. Just Give helps non-profits all over the world with secure credit card transactions. They retain 3% of each donation to offset their costs. This is a reasonable charge that is competative with our own bank. Those wishing to avoid the charge are encouraged to join by check.

Donations for Special Funds
In addition to membership contributions, the Land Conservancy is seeking contributions for several “Special” funds. These are restricted accounts for specific projects and uses. Each of these funds is used to generate “matching” contributions from other sources, making local dollars go as far as possible. Won’t you consider supporting one of these important funds? These can be specified on the online donation form or on our mail-in packages. Click on the newsletter link to the left to request a donation package by mail.
Land Acquisition Fund – Used to leverage funding from larger funding organizations for land and easement purchases.
Octagon Barn Fund – Used to restore a 100 year old architectural wonder.
Bob Jones Trail Fund – Used to promote the Bob Jones City to the Sea Trail. These funds are used as leverage to secure larger grants from national and state programs.
Creek Day Fund – Used to carry out the annual San Luis Obispo Creek Day Cleanup and Education Fair.
